Manchester United’s Patrice Evra is ready to
consider a switch back to Monaco if his club’s bid to land Leighton
Baines eventually leads to a move, according to the Independent.
The Red Devils initial bid of £12million
is understood to have been rejected by the Merseyside club and a second
bid is likely after David Moyes officially takes up his role as
United’s new manager next week.
Evra is entering his last year of his United contract and could find himself fighting for a place against the Englishman.
Evra is said to be unmoved by Moyes’ Baines bid and still considers himself a Manchester United player.
However, he is aware that his position may change so could be tempted to move back to Ligue 1 side Monaco.
Although, Monaco have spent big this summer with the signature of the
likes of Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho, the
newly-promoted side are yet to sign a world class full-back needed in
their push for Champions League football.
Everton will not want to let Baines go but they may be forced to sell if he states his desire to move to Old Trafford.
